The 20th Annual Cardiac Rehab Reunion Walk
YMCA, 1000 Lakeland Dr. SE, Willmar

Fifty past and present Cardiac Rehab friends and their families made the annual walk another successful event. The walk is sponsored by the Rice Hospital Cardiac Rehab Center and the Kandiyohi County Area Family YMCA in Willmar.

John O'Neill shares his heart recovery story
July 2009

Meet John O'Neill - husband, father, grandfather, and a full-time farmer living in Olivia, Minn. An actively competing tri-athlete, John passed out following the Frozen 5K Run in Spicer on January 24 of this year. The weather conditions and physical exertion that came together that day to cause him to pass out just may have saved John's life. >>continued

Larry Myer says, "I made it!!!"

Larry Myer had a stent installed in April of 2007. As part of his recovery process, he attended Rice Cardiac Rehab where he set many goals for himself. One of them was to hike to the top of Crazy Horse in June of 2008. >>continued

Luncheon & Style Show
February 24, 2009

Cardiac Rehab hosted a wonderful hour of education, fun and style in honor of American Heart Month. Food and Nutrition Services at Rice served a heart healthy menu. Kandi Mall retailers provided a variety of styles for the fashion show - all in red, of course! Cardiac Rehab provided facts and information to bring awareness to heart health in women.

While heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in America, heart disease is on the decline for men, but on the rise for women. >>story and photos

Cardiac Rehab Open House and Student Art Show
February 5, 2009

In celebration of American Heart Month and 20 years of Cardiac Rehab at Rice Memorial Hospital, Cardiac Rehab hosted an Open House and Student Art Show. Students from Central Minnesota Christian School crafted beautiful art and valentines which were for sale during the Art Show. Proceeds from the art sale will benefit the Rice Health Foundation Cardiac Care Fund.

Visitors were also able to try the fitness equipment and ask Cardiac Rehab staff all of their fitness and heart health questions. >>photos

Annual Cardiac Rehab Reunion Walk

The 2008 Annual Reunion Walk for Cardiac Rehab was a healthy success. Past and present Cardiac Rehab patients, and their families, are invited to participate in the walk each year, which is sponsored by the Rice Hospital Cardiac Rehab Center and the Kandiyohi County Area Family YMCA in Willmar. About fifty people attend every year, and this year was no different - there were exactly fifty participants! >>continued, along with photos
