I am pleased to introduce this report for the Rice Memorial Hospital cancer program for the calendar year 2006. The cancer committee has continued to meet quarterly to coordinate the multiple facets of our program.

The discussions about consolidating cancer services on the Rice Hospital campus continue to occur with consultation team having indicated that this would be a reasonable venture.

The activities during this calendar year have mainly consisted of maintenance and enhancement of ongoing programs, and going into calender year 2007 once again we are preparing for recertification by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Approvals. This visit should occur in July 2007.
