B.S. in Occupational Therapy, currently registered by the NCOTA board
and the State of Minnesota. |
| Experience |
Prior
work experience preferred, minimum is clinical experience in the
area of psychiatry and physical disabilities. Prior experience with
long term care and/or rehabilitation. |

Knowledge |
The
person must be able to function independently. She/he must be able to
follow doctor's orders, interpret, and carry them out. The person
must be able to provide thorough evaluations, plan treatment, provide
state of the art treatment programs, and document in a clear, concise
manner. The person must be able to relate to a variety of people and
respond quickly to unexpected situations as may be encountered on
the Mental Health Unit. A knowledge of growth and development, specifically
an understanding of the cognitive, physical emotional and chronological
maturation process is needed. An understanding of the range of treatment
that is needed and can be used by patients of all ages in relation
to the growth and development processes to include neonate, child,
adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. The person must also be
able to speak to people in terms of Occupational Therapy and its function. |
| Description |
The
individual in this position provides professional treatment for individuals
in various settings owned by Rice Hospital and/or for time contracted
to other Agencies. Areas this individual provides services to include
Rice Care Center primarily, with possible involvement with in-patients, home care and Rice Rehabilitation Center. The individual is responsible for professional assessment, treatment,
and communication. The individual also participates in department
related activities and activities designed to maintain and increase
her/his professional skills. |
