Nominations for “My Nurse Made the Difference” contest due March 24

IMG_6748Each year, Rice Memorial Hospital sponsors a contest titled “My Nurse Made the Difference” to give patients, residents, and their loved ones a chance to express their appreciation to the nurses who made a difference in their lives.

To enter, write a short letter describing the outstanding nursing care you or a loved one received. Your
letter/story should include specific examples of how your nurse demonstrated the following R.I.C.E. core values:

R – Respect
I – Integrity
C – Compassion
E – Excellence

Respect
We value the uniqueness of our patients and respect their different needs, experiences, talents, and individual worth.

Integrity
We communicate honestly, behave ethically, and accept responsibility for our actions.

Compassion
We recognize that each patient has a right to care which responds to their emotional, spiritual, and physical needs, and is provided with kindness and consideration.

Excellence
We are responsible for continuously seeking to exceed the expectations of our customers by improving our skills, programs, and services.

Include your nurse’s name, your name, your address, and phone number. Nomination letters are due by Monday, March 24, 2013. Winners will be announced at a special luncheon in May 2014. All winners, as well as the people who nominated them, will receive an award.
