Five local banks hosted an American Red Cross Blood Drive with a little friendly competition along the way. Concorde Bank, Heritage Bank, Home State Bank, Lake Region Bank, and North American Bank, invited their staff, customers, and the general public to donate blood on September 25 at Rice Hospital's Lakeland Auditorium. Tim and Abby from Q102 Radio were on hand to broadcast live from the drive. "Our area has come together for this drive," said Tim Burns. The initial goal was set at 45 units, but the morning of the drive it was increased to 55 units, and in the end they collected 60 units! |
