Rice Care Center

Rice Care Center, located on Willmar Avenue, is the only local long term care provider that is directly affiliated with a hospital system. Features include immediate access to medical services, 24-hour nursing care coverage, a compassionate, dedicated staff, and a small town atmosphere. Its nonprofit status differentiates Rice Care Center from other providers of long-term care services in the region.

Currently, Rice Care Center is undergoing an extensive $6 million expansion and remodeling project which will include 41 private rooms and 7 semiprivate rooms. The facility is being designed based on a "Household Model" which features separate "neighborhoods" with private entrances, smaller gathering spaces within those neighborhoods, and larger spaces for meals and community activities.

Therapy Suites

Therapy Suites is a short-stay rehabilitation care facility with 23 private rooms. Connected to Rice Care Center, it presents a healing environment to people who are recovering from serious medical conditions that no longer require the acute care provided by hospitals. Therapy Suites offers rehabilitation services in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, along with nursing care and other skilled services.

In 2012, Therapy Suites at Rice Care received the Environments for Aging's national Citation of Merit award. This award honors the top four exemplary environments for aging in the nation.
