VESTIBULAR REHABILITATION PROGRAM
Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) describes a condition in which crystals in the inner ear become dislodged and float into the ear canals, causing an abnormal signal when a person changes head position.
Symptoms a person may describe with this condition include:
These symptoms are often associated with positional changes like rolling over in bed and getting out of bed. The symptoms usually occur in the morning or evening, being less prevalent during the day.
Treatment will focus on realigning the crystals by asking the patient to move into certain positions and balance training.
Improvement in symptoms can occur in 1 to 5 treatment sessions.
