The Food & Nutrition Services Department at Rice Memorial is available as a resource for both nutrition services and informational support for Food Service Managers. Our registered, licensed dietitians have advanced degrees and specialized training in managing the complex nutritional needs of diabetic and dialysis patients. Information on modified meals for hypertension, weight loss, and cardiac diets is also available, as well as methods of restricting gluten, lactose and fiber in one's diet. We welcome consultations about nutrition support for patients at risk.
Our dietitians are also available for on-site training programs for both technical and non-technical staff. Our dietitians are available for community education programs and job-site employee health programs.
Our Food & Nutrition Services manager offers informational support for professionals seeking information on the Spoken Menu Program for patient meal selections. We also offer assistance with meeting state, federal and JCAHO standards. Staff training on sanitation, right-to-know and HACCP is also available.
