Rice Medical Library

The mission of the library is provide health and hospital-related information to physicians and staff of Rice Memorial Hospital.

Library Hours
The library is accessible to staff and physicians 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

Location
The library is located on the main floor of the hospital in the North Wing.

Circulation

• Books may be borrowed for one week
• Journals may be borrowed for two days
• Items labeled for reference are to be used in the library only
• Please remember to check-out all items that are removed from the library

Library Services

• Literature Searches
  The librarian can provide staff and physicians bibilographies or articles on any health or hospital-related topic.
• Article Requests
  Articles requested by citation will be photocopied or requested from other libraries if not available at Rice.
• Routing Lists
  On request, the librarian will send a copy of the table of contents from current journals to which Rice Medical Library subscribes.
• Computer
  The library has access to Medline, the internet, as well as several other electronic sources.

Collection

• Journals
  The library subscribes to approximately 100 journals.
• Books and Videos
  The library has approximately 2,000 books in its collection.
• Indexes
  The library has access to Medline, CINAHL, and the Hospital and Health Administration Literature Index.
• Online Catalog
  The online catalog provides information about the location of books, journals, and audiovisual items in the library and throughout the hospital.
