Providing Health Ministries in Church Communities

Rice Memorial Hospital, in partnership with local churches, is coordinating a parish nurse outreach program in the ten county area which the hospital serves. This program seeks to strengthen existing ministries to the whole person--body, mind, and spirit-- and provides resources to churches interested in enhancing their ministry to the congregation they serve.

Working in collaboration with the local church leadership, Rice Memorial's Parish Nurse coordinator is a consultant and resource for the development of the church's parish nurse program.

A parish nurse serves the church community in a variety of ways. Examples include:

The Parish Nurse Coordinator at Rice is an experienced Registered Nurse with specialized training in parish nursing and congregational health. There is no charge for the services of the Parish Nurse Coordinator.
