Rice Memorial Hospital (Rice) provides job shadowing opportunities for students who are interested in a healthcare profession. Students experience a healthcare professional’s job by following a Rice employee and observing how patient care is provided.
To set up a job shadowing experience at Rice, students need to contact the Rice Job Shadow Coordinator, Amanda Huselid (Amanda.Huselid@rice.willmar.mn.us) to arrange the experience and obtain the necessary paperwork.
- The appointment should be set up through the job shadow coordinator.
- Students should be a high school junior or higher.
- The suggested time spent shadowing is at least two hours and no more than eight hours.
There will be additional information sent out after Amanda has been contacted. The information will cover Standards of Excellence, Privacy & Confidentiality, and Infection Control. A signature is required for each section; a parent’s signature is required for anyone under the age of 18. These guidelines are designed to give a quality job shadowing experience while ensuring that Rice Hospital continues to provide the highest level of care to our patients.
