Rice Memorial Hospital owns Willmar Ambulance Service, which provides multiple levels of care and transportation, including Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support.

Willmar Ambulance Service provides many levels of care ranging from Basic Life Support to Advanced Life Support and Critical Care.
We are staffed full-time, 24 hours, seven days a week. We have five ambulances and two sprint vehicles. On average, Willmar Ambulance Service responds to approximately 3200 calls per year.
There are three crews on duty each day, seven days per week. There are seven full-time emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and eight full-time paramedics. There are also 20 casual (on-call) EMTs and paramedics.
All Willmar Ambulance staff are trained in IV therapy. EMTs are trained to assist paramedics with medication administration.
We’ve adopted a response time standard that requires that our first ambulance be en route within 90 seconds after being dispatched. This standard has to be achieved in 90 seconds 90% of the time. We currently average 62 seconds for this standard. We also require that we arrive on scene after dispatch within ten minutes 90% of the time. Willmar currently averages eight minutes.
