Rewind. Revive. Renew. ReYou.
Mission: To promote health and wellness in a life changing and sustainable manner.
ReYou Wellness started as a three year grant project in January 2013 from Allina Health and the Penny George Foundation. The goal of ReYou was to provide free biometric screenings and free health and wellness coaching to the Willmar area to help people recognize their health status and determine what to do to improve it through healthy lifestyle behaviors. From 2013-2016 ReYou provided health screenings to over 1,700 individuals and wellness services to over 40 businesses. Many events were hosted including the ReYou Color Craze, ReYou Moon Glo, ReYou Slide and Glide, Chef Marshall O’Brien presentations, a stress reduction series, Movables activity tracking project with 4th graders, and presentations throughout the community.
ReYou continues to be a presence in the community, as a fee for service program. Community members and businesses are still welcome to participate in biometric screenings and health and wellness coaching, as well as events ReYou is hosting.
Biometric Screening…what is it?
A biometric screening is a screening that measures physical characteristics such as BMI (height and weight), blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol (total, HDL, LDL, triglycerides).
ReYou uses a Cholestch machine to measure blood samples. The Cholestech machine requires only a finger prick blood sample and takes five minutes to read the results.
Why participate in a Biometric Screening?
A biometric screening provides information to assess your risk level for chronic diseases such as, hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.
What happens after I receive my results?
After your results have been printed, you will meet one on one with a health and wellness coach to discuss them. The health and wellness coach will review your results with you, highlighting areas you are doing well in and identifying areas you could improve or areas you should consult with your physician on.
What happens after a Biometric Screening? What is health and wellness coaching?
Once you have completed your biometric screening you have the opportunity to participate in ongoing health and wellness coaching. Health and wellness coaching is an opportunity to make lifestyle changes by working on self-determined goals. Health and wellness coaching is there to help you identify what you would like to focus on, keep you accountable, and connect you to community resources.
Wellness is an active process through which people become aware of, and make choices toward, a more successful existence. – National Wellness Institute
Wellness is more than just eating right and exercising. We need to manage our stress, be sure we are connected to our community, challenge ourselves intellectually, and have a spiritual connection. In comes the Six Dimensions of Wellness:
By applying the Six Dimensional Model, a person becomes aware of the interconnectedness of each dimension and how they contribute to healthy living. This holistic model explains:
- Social – How a person contributes to their environment and community, and how to build better living spaces and social networks
- Occupational – The enrichment of life through work, and its interconnectedness to living and playing
- Spiritual – The development of belief systems, values, and creating a world-view
- Physical – The benefits of regular physical activity, healthy eating habits, strength and vitality as well as personal responsibility, self-care and when to seek medical attention
- Emotional – Self-esteem, self-control, and determination as a sense of direction
- Intellectual – Creative and stimulating mental activities, and sharing your gifts with others
Many businesses are implementing wellness programming as a way to improve employee satisfaction and therefore improve work quality and quantity. A positive work environment leads to better health and happiness for everyone.
Businesses can enhance their workplace wellness by offering services by ReYou. Over the past three years ReYou has developed an incentivized Wellness Program for hospital employees that has been well received. Programming entails:

Anyone age 18 and older
What is the structure of a biometric screening?
You will go through five stations:
- Registration (fill out biometric screening form and consent form)
- Blood Pressure and Pulse
- Blood Draw (finger prick) – measures blood glucose, total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides
- BMI (height and weight)
- Mini Health Coaching to review results
Where do biometric screenings take place?
ReYou can travel to businesses or service groups if there are six or more participants. Otherwise, the biometric screenings occur at Rice Memorial Hospital.
What happens to the data collected?
All individual data is kept private. Biometric screening data is entered into ReYou’s data base. This data base is not accessible by any other agencies. If you would like physicians to receive your data you will receive a copy at the screening and you can send it to your physician. The ReYou data base is used to see health trends in the community in an aggregate manner and to track individual progress for participants from year to year.
How often can I go through a biometric screening?
It is recommended that you get screened once a year but if you would like to do it more throughout the year to see changes in biometric numbers you are welcome to get screened more frequently.
